| Oadby is a town on the south-east side of Leicester.
The church currently meets at the North Memorial Hall, which is part of the North Memorial Homes estate. It is located on the B667, just on the east side of the A6 that goes through Oadby. The postcode for the church is: LE2 4FL. From the west (M1/M69 junction): The simplest way to get to Oadby is via the A563, the Outer Ring Road. If you are coming from the motorway junction (M1 junction 21 or the end of the M69, follow signs firstly for "A563 Ring Road" and then for "Leicester South and East". After about 4 miles you will come to a roundabout at the junction with the A6 (Leicester Racecourse is on the right-hand side). Go right onto the A6 heading south and go past ASDA and the BP garage. Take the left turn at the first set of traffic lights onto New Street which will become Stoughton Road. Keep going up this road and the North Memorial Hall is on the right hand side in a few hundred yards. From the north (Leicester): Head south down the A6 towards Oadby and Market Harborough and go past ASDA and the BP garage. Take the left turn at the first set of traffic lights onto New Street which will become Stoughton Road. Keep going up this road and the North Memorial Hall is on the right hand side in a few hundred yards.From the south (e.g. Great Glen, Kibworth & Market Harborough): Head up the A6 towards Leicester. Go past the roundabout with the Grange Farm pub on your right. Head down the hill and at the 4th set of traffic lights, turn right at the Vantis accountancy firm, signposted B582 for Stoughton and Leicester Airport. This is New Street which will become Stoughton Road. Keep going up this road and the North Memorial Hall is on the right hand side in a few hundred yards. From the east (A47): Go through Thurnby & Bushby and turn left on to Spencefield Lane, signposted Leicester Airport. Go through 2 sets of traffic lights and go left at the first mini-roundabout near the war memorial which is Church Road. Go straight on at the next mini-roundabout onto Shady Lane and at the end of the road, turn left onto Gartree Road, signposted Oadby. Go right at the next mini-roundabout onto Stoughton Road, signposted A582 Oadby and Wigston.. Go straight on at the double mini-roundabout and again at the next mini-roundabout. The car park which will be visible on the left hand side is the church car park. In about 200 metres, turn left into the driveway, which is immediately before Stoughton Close. By train: Leicester station is situated on the A6 just on the south-side of the city centre - bus services 31 and 31A operate regularly between the city centre, the station and Oadby. You can also download a printable version As can be seen in the photograph below, the entrance to the North Memorial Homes is next to Stoughton Close. The church car park is immediatley to the left as you turn into the drive. The church itself is hidden by trees, but is reached by walking under the archway and heading up the stairs/slope on the left. There is also a gate half-way along the carpark that allows access to the other side of the church building. |
