Prayer is vital to the work of the church. Prayer is included in all our meetings, whether they are formal services, informal meetings such as home fellowship groups, activities for the youngsters, church officers' meetings, programme planning meetings, or social meetings, including those which include food when a grace is said. The Lord's blessing is sought, praise and thanks are given and intercession is made.
In addition, meetings specifically for prayer are held regularly and on an 'ad hoc' basis.
Regular meetings:Saturday mornings (8.00-9.00): a group of church members meet each week to praise the Lord and to pray for individuals in the membership and congregation, for the activities of the church and for the wider world. We work through a 13 week rota, so that every person and activity in the church is prayed for regularly and we add immediate needs into each week's prayer meeting.
Sunday evenings (18.00-18.15): a short time of prayer is held before the evening service to commit the service, immediate needs and the coming week to the Lord.
On the second Tuesday of each month (14.00-16.00): a prayer meeting is held in a member's home. This consists usually of a small group of women who are able to attend, when there is time to praise and pray over many matters, such as people who are sick or have other needs, the leaders and ministry of the church and the missionary work supported by the church.
Everyone is welcome at any of the prayer meetings and we would be encouraged to see more people coming and joining in this work for the Lord and His kingdom.
